It was probably a size 8 when she gave it to me, but after taking out the zipper and lining, it fit my waist perfectly. It still needs a new waistband and fresh zip, but it was good enough to wear out on Tuesday night to see Bridesmaids (for the 3rd time) and eat at Chin Chin as a final goodbye date with Anton (before we start platonically dating each other in a new city...).

I couldn't let this post go up without mentioning that today marks the 3rd birthday of With Love and Swallow. It was three years ago that little Brodie, who had only lived in Melbourne for four months, decided to start sharing her every thought, movement (social and bowel), story and outfit with the Internet. The first post on here is super embarrassing but has remained there for posterity.
When I started this blog I didn't really have a clear focus for what it would be, and it's served as a kind of diary of my life here in Melbourne since then. It chronicles the friends I made, the music and movies I liked and the degree I got. It was never meant to appeal to anyone outside my friends (and even some of them would probably question if they see any point to it at all!), but I'm really glad it has.
Since starting this blog I've moved house three times and preparing to do so again right now, this time to facilitate my upcoming move to New York City. It's a huge new phase in my life, and one that I'm equally excited and terrified about. I've not yet decided if With Love and Swallow will transition from "a blog by a girl in Melbourne" to "a blog by a girl in NYC", if I'll start afresh elsewhere, or if I'll give the blogging thing a rest for a while/indefinitely (I have pros and cons relating to each option). Whatever I decide, any relevant links to new places to follow my inane bullshit will be posted here.
In the meantime, it's going to be pretty quiet around here for the next few weeks, but you can keep track of my movements (again, both social and bowel) on Twitter, Foursquare, Tumblr, Foodspotting and Instagram.
Leiderhosen.

Beautiful outfit (love the skirt), but more importantly, good luck in New York!
